Abstract

This paper describes biodiversity of fruit flies in southern Thailand. The samples of fruit that traces the destruction of fruit flies was analyze for species. The results showed that 5 fruit fly species including Bactrocera dorsalis complexes, Bactrocera latifrons, Bactrocera cucurbitae, Bactrocera umbrosa and Bactrocera tau. The specificity of fruit flies and host was carried out and found B. dorsalis complexes in 11 family of host inclusing Myrtaceae, Caricaceae, Anacardiaceae, Combretaceae, Meliaceae, Moraceae, Osaceae, Oxalidaceae, Palmae, Rhamnaceae, and Rutaceae. B. cucurbitae was found in Leguminosae and Cucurbitaceae. B. latifrons, B. tau, and B. umbrosa were very specific to only one host family by found in Solanaceae, Cucurbitaceae and Moraceae, respectively. Three 3 species of parasitoid including Diachasmimorpha longicaudata, Psyttalia makii และ Fopius arisanus .
